I had been playing this game intermittently before the latest update came through. The update kept failing and I couldn't load the game until the update was finished.
As update wasn't working, I uninstalled the game. Now I cannot install the game on Windows 10 PC.
I get the following;
Try that again
Something went wrong.
The error code is 0x80073CF0, in case you need it.
I have tried WSRESET.EXE in admin mode and it still doesn't work. Incidentally it was the same error when the update kept failing.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

If you’re the kind of person who likes to stay on top of app updates in the Windows Store you may have noticed an error code when attempting to download new versions of stock Windows 10 apps. Well, senior program manager at Microsoft, Brandon LeBlanc, has come out to say that Microsoft is aware of this issue and is working to republish the apps soon.
We are aware. Team is working to republish the apps to fix the issue.

Specifically, the store throws a 0x80073CF0 error code when it attempts to download updates for some stock apps like Mail and Calendar. It’s still not exactly certain what causes this issue, or when a fix will be released for this issue, but it is great to see that Microsoft is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it.
In other news, Microsoft recently rebranded the Windows Store app on Windows 10 to the Microsoft Store. For now, this change is only for those in the Release Preview Ring so it’s apparent that Microsoft may be testing name changes and gather feedback before rolling it out to a wider audience.
We will be keeping an eye on this situation and will update this post accordingly when a fix has been released. Until then let us know if you have been affected by this issue by dropping us a comment below!

Starting with the release of Windows 8, Microsoft introduced their Windows Store, which is a built-in program, created as a means of distributing various free and paid apps for your computer. It’s very similar to the concept of the Google Play Store, which pretty much serves the same purpose for Android smartphone and tablet users. The Windows Store is also available for Windows 10, making just fewer than 700,000 applications available for download. And as it is with many apps on this version of Windows, which comes as a result of Microsoft wanting to make their product even more user-friendly than before, all its updates are automatically installed, when there are new ones available. This sometimes leads to issues, however, and the one that has brought you to our page – Error Code 0x80073CF9 – is no exception.
Error 0x80073CF9 is a severity update failure and usually occurs when an update has failed to be installed. Alternatively, you may also see this error if you’ve been trying download or update some program on your computer. Error Code 0x80073CF9 Fix
The Guide
Fix 1:
- Locate the drive where Windows is installed (this will usually be Disk C: ) and open the Windows folder. Alternatively, you can press and hold down the Windows Key + R. Type in the following: C:Windows, after which click OK.
- You should now be in the Windows folder. Right-click somewhere inside (not on any of the other folders), then select New and click on Folder. Name the folder AppReadiness. This should solve the issue.
Fix 2:
- Sometimes the error may occur due to your WiFi connection. If this is your case, you can try using a wired connection instead. Do this by connecting your router and computer with the help of an Ethernet cable.
- After you’ve plugged the cable in, press and hold the Windows Key + R. Type in ncpa.cpl and hit Enter.
- Locate your wireless adapter and right-click on it, after which click on Disable.
- Try to update or download whatever it was you wanted and if successful, right-click on your adapter again to enable it.
Fix 3:
- An alternative cause for the Error 0x80073CF9 could be the Store’s inability to write to the Packages folder; hence it doesn’t have access to it. The Packages folder is located in the folder Windows -> AppRedepository. To solve this, you need to first make visible all hidden files and folders. In the Start menu, go to Control Panel and select Appearance and Personalization. Go to Folder Options -> View. Under Advanced Settings click on Show hidden files, folders and drives, after which press OK.
- Open the Windows folder and right-click the AppRedepository folder in it. Click on Properties, then go to Security -> Advanced. Select Continue Allow Full System Access to ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES and SYSTEM.
